About Soul de Vienne
Soul de Vienne is an international collective led by composer and producer Roman Schleischitz, blending the emotional depth of soul and jazz with the elegance of cinematic pop.
The project unites accomplished musicians from across Europe, creating a sound that feels both timeless and contemporary — rich in warmth, authenticity, and musical storytelling.
Born from Schleischitz’s vision to merge heartfelt composition with refined craftsmanship, Soul de Vienne bridges genres and generations.
Each production celebrates live instrumentation, expressive arrangements, and a profound sense of human connection — where brass, keys, and rhythm intertwine to form a vibrant, soulful landscape.
With classical roots and studies in organ and jazz piano at the Vienna Conservatory, Schleischitz brings a rare combination of structure and spontaneity to his work.
His background in both sacred and popular music shapes a style that is technically precise yet emotionally open — music made not just to be heard, but to be felt.
More than a band, Soul de Vienne is a creative platform — a space where musicians collaborate across borders to share a common language of groove, emotion, and elegance.
The result is a sound that carries the spirit of Vienna into the world: sophisticated, heartfelt, and unmistakably human.

When impulse becomes intimacy
Soul de Vienne captures unexpected desire and human closeness with “That Was Insane”
Vienna, January 2026 – Some stories don’t begin with intention.
They begin with coincidence, noise, and a moment you didn’t plan for — yet can’t ignore.
With “That Was Insane”, Soul de Vienne releases a soulful, cinematic song about the fragile line between impulse and connection. Told with wit, warmth, and emotional honesty, the track unfolds like a personal confession: an unexpected encounter that starts playfully, turns recklessly human, and reveals something quietly profound.
Led by Austrian composer and producer Roman Schleischitz, the international collective focuses on a deeply human experience — the moment when curiosity overrides caution, and a stranger suddenly feels familiar.
“This song isn’t about romance by design,” says Schleischitz.
“It’s about those irrational moments when you act before you think — and sometimes, that’s where truth lives.”
At the heart of the song stands vocalist Gwen, whose voice moves effortlessly between irony and vulnerability. She doesn’t dramatize the story — she inhabits it. Her delivery feels intimate and unguarded, allowing listeners to step directly into the scene, as if overhearing a private thought rather than a performance.
Musically, “That Was Insane” blends modern soul, jazz-inflected pop, and cinematic groove. Fine musical nuances, an expressively restrained trumpet, and a rhythm section that breathes rather than pushes create a sound that feels sensual without being loud — confident without trying too hard.
Rather than celebrating shock or provocation, the song lingers on something more lasting: tenderness that arrives by surprise.
“What fascinates me,” Schleischitz adds,
“is how quickly distance can dissolve when two people really see each other — even if it starts in the most unlikely way.”
“That Was Insane” is not a classic love song.
It’s a snapshot of human closeness — imperfect, spontaneous, and deeply relatable.
A reminder that sometimes, the moments we didn’t plan are the ones that stay.
